How Often Should You Get Your Eyebrows Tinted?

Most people get a good three to four weeks out of an eyebrow tint before it noticeably fades. That is the short answer — but how long yours lasts depends on a few things worth knowing before you book.

Your skin and hair type make a difference

Naturally oily skin sheds tint faster, since the colour sits on the surface of each hair and in the top layer of skin. If you exfoliate your face regularly or use retinol, expect the tint to fade a little sooner too — both slough away the tinted skin cells faster than normal.

Sun and water shorten it

Swimming, saunas and direct sun all fade tint faster than everyday life. If you have a holiday coming up, it is worth booking your tint for right before you go rather than right after — you will get the best of it while you are away.

Shape first, tint after

If your brows need shaping as well, always do that first and tint in the same visit — cleaning up stray hairs after tinting just removes the colour along with them. A shape and tint together is the most efficient way to book it, and it is priced as one visit rather than two.

A simple rule of thumb

Book a fresh tint every three to four weeks if you want brows that always look done. Many clients book it alongside their regular hair or nail appointment, so it becomes one less thing to think about separately.
