Patch Test Policy
Last updated: June 2026
What Is a Patch Test?
A patch test is a simple safety check carried out before certain treatments. A small amount of product is applied to your skin — usually behind the ear or on the inner arm — and left for 48 hours to check for any allergic reaction.
Who Needs One?
A patch test is required for all new clients and for existing clients who:
- Have not visited us in the past 6 months
- Have changed medications or health conditions since their last visit
- Are booking a colour or chemical treatment for the first time with us
Why Is It Important?
Allergic reactions to hair colour and certain beauty products can be serious. A patch test helps protect your health and ensures we can carry out your treatment safely. It is also a requirement under professional industry guidelines in the UK.
How to Book a Patch Test
Please contact us at least 48 hours before your appointment to arrange your patch test. This can be done in the salon and takes only a few minutes.

What Happens If You Skip It?
For your safety, we are unable to carry out colour or chemical treatments without a patch test result. If you arrive for your appointment without completing one in time, we may need to reschedule. We appreciate your understanding — your wellbeing always comes first.
